“Historical atmosphere inside and out, friendly staff and always helpful, you will need a good 5 days to get the full amount of upstate nostalgia, the golf courses are well maintained, we had a group of 7 and a load of fun, a great time was had by all. A must have is the Prime Rib dinner, bring your appetite.” – Benny G.
“Played the 9-hole Valley course with a few friends. The staff is very welcoming, the vibe is laid-back, and the other golfers are friendly and patient. This course is great for a relaxed round of golf, no matter your experience.” – Michael M.
“We had an excellent stay at Christman’s Windham House! My fiancé and I had our engagement party there, Ruth and her staff were truly amazing. The food, the service and personality of the building were amazing. Nestled in the mountains we had a great night with family and friends and great food. We ended the night with a bonfire and started the next day with a delicious breakfast. It was like staying the night and grandmas house in the wooded mountains if my grandma lived in the mountains! Can’t wait to return, would recommend to anyone in the area! Thank you so much Ruth!” – Chris Gilmore
“I stayed in the main house upstairs. The room was large, clean and accommodating. I was there for a quilter’s retreat over the weekend. The food was great and the wait staff and hosts were friendly and helpful. ” – Jeannie I.
“We played The Mountain Course. It is a challenging and beautiful course. Golf carts are well maintained and staff is very friendly. Lots of visible wildlife along the course. Easy to get there on state route 23 just west of Windham. Good food and great decor in The Tavern. Love this place.” – Beverly S.
“This is a quaint mountain resort. The room was clean, roomy, with a nice balcony with a beautiful view. Perfect for a relaxing nightcap. The staff is friendly and welcoming, always willing to help and greet you with a genuine hello and smile. They made dinner reservations for us each night. Breakfast (included in our rate) was plentiful and fresh. The 1805 Tavern (across the street overlooking the golf course) was good for burgers and sandwiches for lunch. The grounds are beautifully kept and clean. I definitely plan on returning next summer hopefully for more than just a weekend.” – Margaret M.

“We were looking for a quick but safe getaway when we discovered Christman’s Windham House. This is a golf resort located in the Catskill mountains. It is a great area to visit at any time, but during fall foliage it can not be beat. There are different buildings with rooms in this resort with the Country Inn being the very nicest. Ruth, our hostess, is wonderful. When we arrived she gave us many good tips of places to eat and even called and made reservations for us for that evening. Every tip we were given by Ruth was spot on. We were also offered a golf cart which was ours for the time we were there. Of course a cart is great for golfing, but we added another dimension at Ruth’s suggestion and got up early to be on the course before the golfers started and the views on that course are magnificent. They also have a grill directly across the road from the Country Inn which offered good food without a need to drive anywhere. There are several good restaurants in this area and several interesting shops. The Catskills is beautiful area and we found our visit terrific.” – Jesse R.
“Been coming here in summer for more than two decades. The innkeepers and their staff are always welcoming and accommodating, and the 18-hole mountain course is well-maintained and a good test of your golfing skills. But most of all, this is an excellent place to simply relax with a good book and breathe some clean air.” – Mark M.
“My special thanks to Ruth, Brian, and the entire staff for such great service and making you feel at home. I can’t say enough good things about the golf at this resort. Both the Valley and Mountain courses are in great shape and always well maintained. Golf prices are about 1/2 of NYC Muni prices and this is a great place for a golf weekend or week with your golf buddies. The food, breakfast and dinner, is first class. Only 2 1/2 hours from NYC to clean air, great golf, clean rooms and excellent food. ” – TripAdvisor Review
“My brother and I have known about Christman’s 18-hole championship mountain course for years through reading and we finally got to play it for the first time this weekend. We had high expectations given what we’d heard about it. Those expectations were exceeded in every way. Greens fees are moderate. From the blue tees the course is demanding and always interesting, every hole in its own natural setting and different from all the others. The par-3’s are tough. The mountain flavor is everywhere: deep woods, steep hillsides, pools, rocks, a feeling of being in untamed territory. Great views of the mountains around Windham. The greens are the best I’ve played anywhere this year, at any price: perfectly maintained, true rolling, varied, fair. High quality everywhere, including better signage, better yardage markers and better flagpoles than elsewhere. Be aware: your first time through you’ll probably shoot a high score, as I did, since you’ll have no local knowledge yet. I figure my score was 10 shots higher than it would have been the next time around – wish I’d bought the course guide before playing. We would have played twice in one day yesterday but the wait would have been too long. The food in the clubhouse cafe was excellent too. In sum, we could not have been happier. We’ll be back!” – Anonymous Customer
